Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of a Trafford Man

Early on Saturday morning, December 11, a Trafford man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 459 in Jefferson County.

According to authorities, the accident happened shortly after 4.10 a.m when 35 year old Gregory Allen Burnham Jr. was driving a 2016 Toyota Roadrunner. He was on I 459, between Interstate 65 and Acton Road near Vestavia Hills when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons, the hit a guard rail followed by a steel support pole for a highway sign.

Burnham was pronounced dead on the scene shortly afterwards and the wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.

Allen grew up in Collins, MS and was a 1999 graduate of Collins High School. He worked in the Oil Industry for the past 15 years, both in the Gulf and overseas. He enjoyed being outdoors and particularly liked hunting, fishing and golfing.
