A teenager from Tennessee has pleaded guilty to manslaughter following the death of a girl from Madison County when he was driving drunk.
The accident happened in May 2015 when 20 year old Christopher Wayne Ross, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, was speeding in a Chevrolet Impala at Mastin Lake Road and Jordan Lane and crashed into a Toyota Corolla being driven by 19 year old Toniette Katherine Piccinich. Piccinich was killed in the crash and the driver of a car she was pushed into, Teodore Andrew Jervis was injured.
Ross tried to flee the scene but was detained by bystanders and found to have a blood alcohol level some seven times higher than the legal limit.
Ross pleaded guilty to manslaughter, first-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injury. His sentencing is due on December 5, and he faces a maximum of 50 years in jail.
